A Bear's Life

I am back to Singapore!!! =D Hehehe... Happy and Sad... Just came back from my hometown Jakarta. Leaving my friends and family there.

A lot of thing happened while I am back in Jakarta. During my one and half week in Jakarta, I learnt few things. Those that I will keep in mind as long as I live. I'll let you know as I go along updating this blog. But now, I am too tired to talk a lot of things. Just wait patiently. =D

Continuing my journey home 2 weeks back. On first Sunday, I had a gathering with my family. It's actually gathering made for one of my uncle. He came with his family from Holland. This is the second time I met him. I met him last year also. That time, he came to Jakarta alone.

Lotsa of my family came to the party. We occupied three table in the restaurant. It was lunch gathering. I talked with my family that I haven't seen for sometime. Checking out how's each other doing. The fun thing about the gathering was some of my uncle and grandpa is very funny. They joked and joked and joked. My grandma was there. One of her older sisters, one of her younger sisters and two of her younger brothers.

One of the younger brother, I called him Sa Ku Kong (third brother), was the joker. He likes to joke. He is a very funny guy. Love to be around him. Hahaha... The other joker is my grandma's older sister's elder son. He likes to joke also. So, the situation was very lively.

That day, I realized that family is important. For my uncle that migrated to Holland long time ago. He still come to Jakarta and recognized the family. Had a gathering together, try to meet and visit all relatives. Well, I have been away from Jakarta for 7 years now. since I entered NTU, now working in Singapore. I'll be away from Jakarta at least for the next 3.5 years. Dunno when I will come back to Jakarta. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. For now, I gonna stay in Singapore. Will try to visit my family as often as I can. Love all of them, no matter what their character is. =D Gonna miss you all. I'll see you all again!!!

Had a very lovely day with my friends on Sunday, 30th July 2006. I was in Jakarta that time. They organized a gathering since I was in town. It was a very lovely, fun day. Almost everybody turned out that afternoon except Pauline. Pauline, where were you???

We had lunch together at Lara Jonggrang, somewhere in Cikini, Jakarta. The restaurant has a mystic concept. They made the place scary. It is a dark and cool place. They have some scary paintings on the walls. Scary statues around the restaurant. They even have some tombstones around. Hehehe... Luckily we came in the afternoon, so the place wasn't so scary. Dunno how the lighting will be at night. Must be scary.

The food was actually nice. But kinda expensive in Indonesia. The food is kinda unique. You can see the picture below. It came like a set menu. Rice with some meat and veggie. They serve different type of set menu from different part of Indonesia. I forgot which part of Indonesia my food from. =P Hahaha...

They gave me a surprise. It's funny surprise actually. They told the restaurant that I was having my birthday on that day! Hahaha... Then when we moved to the other part of the restaurant to have some drinks, the waiters started to sing Happy Birthday song. Hahaha... They came in the door with a cake and a candle. My friend started to sing as well. Haiyo... Those guys were cheating the restaurant to get a complement cake for me. For your information, my birthday was not on 30th July, but it's on 20th September. Guess they want to celebrate my birthday earlier. Hahaha... And they spelled my name wrongly... =(

From there, we headed to Senayan (it's the national stadium). It's the center of sports activities in Jakarta. Only me, Roy, Din2, Andrew, Willy, Mink, Upay, and Rini there. Went there to watch a basketball match. It was Someting club (Can't remember the name =P) Vs Aspac Putra Riau. When we reached there, it was starting the second half. The game was won by Aspac Putra Riau... =D

Then, we went to Giornale. It's a cafe near Megamall (a mall near my house). Guess what we did there!!! Yes, we played RISK!!! Hahaha... Ordered a drink for each person, then we started the game. Me, Mink, Din2, Andrew, Upay, and Willy. Rini helped me during the game. Ojep came a while later. We like spent 3 hours playing there. Hahaha...

Tired from playing, we went for dinner somewhere else. Went for Kwetiau Siram 78. It's an eatery near my house. Hahaha... After full, we continued our game at Willy's house. Hahaha... At Willy's place only left 4 of us. Me, Willy, Ojep and Rini. Hahaha... We ended our game at 1am. Everybody's tired and went home.

It's a fun day. That's what I call a gathering, hanging out with friends. Spent the whole day with friends, having fun together. Seldom have a chance for this kinda of stuff. Everybody's busy with their own stuff and work. Hope I can have more of this in the future, in this busy world.

I went to London on Sunday. Hehehe... It took us one hour bus ride there. Kinda long... But, it's cheaper compare to taking train. Hehehe... So we stopped at Hyde Park Corner and walked to Piccadilly Circus. Hehehe... Took some pictures along the way. =D

Passed by one Art Galery and went in. There're a lot of paintings, sculptures. But I am not really into art. I don't know how to appreciate them. Hehe... Just took a walk around.

We went to China Town and did a little shopping to find some sauces and ingredients to cook. =D They sell moon cakes here. It's about time to celebrate Moon Cake festival. One month away??? We went to eat dinner at one of the Chinese restaurant there. It cost me 4 pound for a plate of mixed meat rice. =(

After that we went back to Hyde Park Corner to take our bus home. Hehehe. That's my first day trip to London. =D
