Edinburgh Trip 1
Hallo people of the world, long time no see. Been a while… =D Just came back from trip to Edinburgh last weekend. Went there on Friday night and reach home on Tuesday morning. Huhuhu… I took an overnight coach to Edinburgh from London. It took about 8 hours. The bus is pretty punctual actually. The bus left London at 2300 hours, Friday night, and reached Edinburgh the next morning at 0740. And that’s exactly what the ticket said. =D The bus going to Edinburgh was not really good. I can’t sleep on the bus. It was only after 0230, I slept. The seat was narrow. The journey home was better bcos not so many people were taking the bus. So I took two seats for myself. Hahaha… I can put lay down and sleep. Woo hoo… =D
Edinburgh is really a lovely place. I love the buildings there. Really nice place. First day, we went to the Farmer’s market. It only opens on Saturday morning till afternoon. So, we went there first. =D The market is not so big. It sells a lot of farm products such as eggs, meats, vegetables, fishes, jams, cakes. I bought myself a wild boar burger for a breakfast. =P Hehehe… First time trying it. It’s not too bad. But not too special also. They just put bread and the meat. No ketchup or mayonnaise.

Me in Farmer Market and Eating Wild Boar Burger. Note: the picture is not wild boar =P
Then we headed to National Museum (If I am not wrong =P). We spent quite sometime there. We follow this nice old man around the museum. It was the highlight tour of the museum. It took about 1.5 hours. It’s quite nice actually since the old man told us about the items that they have there. =D There, I touched the oldest rock on earth. Hohoho… I won’t know if the old man didn’t tell me. =D I was told that Adam Smith is a Scottish as well. Hmm… My friend asked him, “What do the Scottish wear under the kilt?” He answered, “They wore nothing under the kilt!” Hahaha… I only knew that. Aren’t they cold when they wore kilt then? =P

From there, we headed to the hostel to check in and take some sleep b4 continue going around. We stayed at St. Christopher Inn. We stayed in a 14-bed-room bcos it’s the cheapest rate. It costs only £8 per night per head. The place is nice. It’s clean. They provide breakfast also. They have a chill out lounge where we can use internet (must pay though), watch TV. Chit chat with other guests there. The first floor is a bar. In fact, the reception is in the bar. Hehehe… They have a locker as well, but you have to bring your own padlock though. Oh ya, it is located just opposite of the train station!

At night, we went for Ghost tour! It costs £7.50 Huhuhu… We didn’t see any ghost though. Basically, the guide just brought us around the place. Telling stories about the past about witch, the torture that witch get. They have a room which has all the equipment that they use for torturing the witches at that time. Then, we proceeded to this underground place. You may want to find out about it by yourself when you go there. =D
From there, me and my friends went for dinner in a pub called Castle Arms. I had sausage and mash. My friend ate Haggis. I tried it and it’s really nice!!! I liked it. But I had my sausages and mash there. =( Had Crannachan (sounds Japanese, doesn'tit?) for dessert. It's Scottish dessert. A cream with oats, strawberry inside and they pour whiskey on it as well. =D If you go there, you can try have ur dinner there. Doesn’t cost much, I spent £10. It’s on Johnston Terrace. =D

After dinner, we went back to our hostel and rest for the night!!!
