Wimbledon, Tuesday, 26Jun07

As you all may know, I got tickets for Wimbledon Tennis. Hehehe... Was lucky enough to get the tics so that I don't need to queue. =D I got ticket for Tuesday, 26Jun07. I had two tickets and were asking those tennis fans to go but they are not available because no leave to take. I was scared that nobody can go that day. I already paid for the tickets and can't refund it. =( Finally found DGTP to go. Yeah... Didn't lose my £39.60. Huhuhu...

Obviously, Court 3 not as appealing as Court 2 =P

I came early that day. Reached there about 1030 when the game only started at 1300 in Center Court and 1200 at other courts. =D So I spent my time walking around, checked out the place. Had my lunch as well before the game started. The food there is expensive. I ate hotdog that cost me £3.50. Just a sausage with baguette. Huaa...

On center court

First match was Jamea Jackson Vs Amelie Mauresmo. The game was quite fast finished in two sets. Expected for world no 4 and last year champion. =D

Second match was Carlos Moya Vs Tim Henman. This was the continuation of unfinished Monday's match. They finished the match at 5-5 at final set. It was discontinued because it was too dark to continue the match. This game was really good. Although only the last set, it was really exciting game. Both player didn't want to lose. Center court was full on this match! Everybody supporting Tim as he is British. Tim won the game at 13-11. Good match... Standing ovation for both of you. =D

Third match was Mardy Fish Vs Rafael Nadal. World no 38 Vs World no 2. Nadal finished the game in three sets. DGTP noticed that Nadal kept on holding his pants. Hahaha... I didn't notice that until she told me. I think he needs to buy new pants. The one that suits his size. =P

Last match was Potito Starace Vs Novak Djokovic. Djokovic won the game in three sets as well. It was entertaining match. They did some good stunts. Hehehe... Hitting the balls between their legs. =P There was one time when Djokovic hit the ball near the net, Starace was behind and ran to the net. While runnint forward, he yelled "run, run run" Hahaha... So funny. He managed to hit the ball. Good spirit! =D

From my seat

After that we continued to court 3 to watch Nikolay Davydenko Vs Evgeny Korolev. Davydenko won the match. On the last set, I saw he was treated by his physio for his right thigh. Dunno what happened. Only managed to watch the last set.

It was cloudy day that day. We were lucky enough it was the only day that the weather forecast said sunny intervals. =P It was a cold day. When the wind blowing, I was shivering. I didn't bring my sweater or jacket. =( Better remember to bring next time I come here. I bought myself a giant tennis ball and key chain. Hehehe... Too bad that I didn't find any players to sign my tennis ball. =(

When we came back at about 2130, we saw people already camping there to get tickets for the next day. Wow, I think I know where the Singapore's kiasu-ness came from. =P Hahaha...

It was really a good experience, I loved it. I like the fact that during the match, there were about 6000 people in the court, they all were silent when the game is played. There is a moment of silent that you won't hear anything before the player hit the ball. It's like in the library. Hehehe...

Cambridge

XH, her sister and me were planning to go to Stratford-upon-Avon on that day. But when we went to the train station to buy tics, there was no group save available to go there. It's simply because virgin train is involved in the route. The price of the tickets was about £35 per person. After thingking, we decided to cancelled and went to Camrbridge instead.

the journey there took about 2 hours. Kinda far ya. Hehe... When we reached the station, there was a police scan, they checked our bags, need to pass metal detector. It's like in the airport. Not sure what's going on, but according to them it was a standard operation. Weirdd...

Then we went to one of the colleges, Trinity College. XH's sister has friends, Nils and Sarah, that are studying there. Thanks for that, we could enter the college for free. Huhuhu... Yup, you need to pay to enter the college. It seems that the attractions there are the colleges. Hehehe.... We went to the back of the colleges, pass River Cam. You can do punting there. I didn't because it was expensive. Not to keen on doing that anyway. It was exam season actually when we came there. Huhuhu...

After that, we went for lunch. Nils and Sarah went back to books after lunch. Huhuhu... XH and sister went for shopping around Cambridge. There was an open market there. I like the market. =D There was this lady who drew cartoons. I really like her cartoons. Apparently, she used to draw for daily newspaper in Turkey before she moved to UK. She said this is what she always wanted to do. It's nice to see and talk to the real artist or cartoonist. =D

We didn't stay long after that. We came back around 1700. I went to XH home then, she and her sis cooked dinner for me. Yeahh!!! Mash and bangers it was. Huhuhu... When we reached there, KL and KK were at home as well. =D We watched Joseph after that. Huhuhu... It's finished now. Lee is the winner!!!

Amsterdam Trip Day One

So I went to Amsterdam, Holland, on the 9th June 07. Was a country which used to collonize Indonesia, a country which most of the land is under the sea level, a country of tulip. Went there with two of my friends from Singapore. I am meeting them in Amsterdam. Emmy and Ruby. =D

I went there through Heathrow this time. Taking BMI flight. The flight there only took me about one hour. Hehehe.... Fast. Took the earliest flight that morning. It was at 6am. There wasn't many passenger in there. Very quiet. I sit by myself in my row. Hehehe...

Reached Schiphol airport, I took train to Amsterdam Central Station. I just wait there for a while before Emmy and Ruby reached. They took train from Paris. From there, we went to our hostel, San Luchesio. It's located at the housing neighbourhood. It's kinda hard to find it since it's like "hidden". Hehehe... Then from there we were back to the central station, because we were meeting E and R's friend there, Ralph and Eve.

From there, we walked around Amsterdam city. Passed the flower market, the big square (forgot the name). Had a drink at this cool place, sat just beside the river. Huhuhu... Thanks to Eve and Ralph to show us around. Oh ya, met with Nico also. Eve's friend, an Italian who having his internship in Amsterdam. At the end of the day, we went to the red light district. Went through those alleys. It's not as bad as I thought it was. I heard they toned down a bit. It used to be a lot crazier. Hehehe...
